Psychology
Our A level in Psychology is your ticket to uncovering the mysteries of the mind. In the AS level, you’ll explore the complexities of human behaviour and thought processes, then dive into biological psychology, where you’ll grasp the secrets of how we learn and grow. As you progress to the A2 level, you’ll delve into developmental psychology, criminological psychology and clinical psychology, understanding human growth and the forces that shape behaviour. Whether you aspire to become a psychologist, counsellor, or simply want to decode the complexities of human behaviour, this course unlocks the door to the captivating world of psychology!
A-Level Psychology
A level psychology aims to encourage an interest in and appreciation of psychology through an exploration of the ways in which psychology is conducted. This exploration includes a review of a number of important research studies and an opportunity to look at the ways in which psychology has been applied.
The syllabus uses a wide variety of assessment techniques that will allow students to show what they know, understand and are able to do. The emphasis is on the development of psychological skills as well as the learning of psychological knowledge.
The following topics are studied throughout the AS and A level psychology course. There is a mix of short answer questions and structured essay questions.

To study 3 A Levels:
5 GCSEs at grade 5 or higher, including English Language and Maths
Please note:
BTEC or vocational qualifications will not be accepted in place of GCSEs
Additional Requirements
9-5 in Maths
9-5 in Biology if taking separate sciences
9-5 in Double Science / Core Science AND Additional Science (not applied or vocational Science)
